I left my country to work here when I was 16 years old to come to Singapore. I am here already 28 years since with my new family set up in Singapore and married a Singaporean. My three children is all Singaporean progressing from your Singapore system. I might not have met you Mr Lee Kuan Yew but you are a great leader that set a system in Singapore running well till today and next. The corruption free, safety of family and women and the efficient government offices made us proud to be here and part of Singapore. I feel the sadness in my heart and could not stop crying every time I walk the street of Singapore from the day of your passing. I for one is one of the people in Singapore and all of the people of Singapore must have felt the loss of the greatest leader of the times. It is a great lost to Singapore and Thank You Mr Lee Kuan Yew for being the biggest part of history and legacy of Singapore. Rest in peace Mr Lee Kuan Yew.

Beloved and Respected Mr.Lee ., You are the only leader we admire the most in this world. You were a Model example to all the fellow citizens. You were a rare combination of self-confidence, determination, passion for excellence, frugality, respect for people, the courage to do important things, highest possible speed of execution, developing leaders. grooming successors, etc..etc..Your knowledge of and maintaining good International relations with all other countries [neighboring ASEAN, China, India, Europe, USA, Russia, Australia, Africa] have been phenomenal. The actions in making Singapore a Business-friendly country, guiding the Government for creating job opportunities for all, action plan for 'Home-for-every-family' can only be written in words. We understand how much energy you spent for these and the struggle you went through to implement all these. Thank you so much. You will always be in our hearts.

I still remember the deep impression I had when I read his book "From Third World to First" in year 2000. I had heard of Singapore before but at that time, information and images were not so readily available like today. Also language and distance posed a relatively challenge to meet directly with the upcoming star in SE Asia, especially being in my native Uruguay, lying in the east coast of South America. With his book, I became an advocate of development, helped by my family s passion for engineering and architecture. His ideas led me to another path, to service my people through public service. Years later, when I met PM Lee at the Istana, I recalled that book and the great influence it had in my life. I continued reading his books as well as others from distinguished Singaporeans. I keep on studying. The guidance of Mr Lee and the teamwork of the people of Singapore made it possible for the rest of world to witness an impressive development for his country and a lesson for other developing countries, that development and fighting poverty is possible. His ideas about many issues should be promoted and known for more people in the world, along with his vision and example which should be highlighted in universities and learning centers around the world.
