Dearest Mr Lee, 我最亲爱的国父: No words can describe how I feel. It's like the passing of a family member. Since Monday when news of your passing broke, the outpour of grief, gratitude and love for you has been tremendous. I wish you could see this - Singaporeans united as one. Oh, the good old kampong spirit! You would have been so proud. Reading and watching all there is out there about you in this difficult time, I cry everyday. But it's great to learn more and more about you. The many things you have done for us, your lifelong dedication to Singapore, and the love you have for your wife - I am so so touched. There will never be another man like you. 您真的很令人敬佩，我也非常尊敬您。 It's hard to imagine Singapore without you from here on. However, we will be sure to not only survive, but strive and thrive. I am very proud to call myself a Singaporean. Singapore loves you, and appreciates all that you have done for us. You are truly a legend. 我永远都不会忘记您。也会确保子子孙孙，世世代代都认识您。 Thank you, and farewell, our founding father. 虽然真的很舍不得，但我希望您能在afterlife和李太太重逢。一路好走... Lots of love.

Your political philosophy unabashedly prioritised economic development, and became a model of many emerging countries. You dedicated your entire life to Singapore, to the citizens with no reservations. You touched our lives in a profound way. Things has always been taken for granted, if not lightly, by young Singaporean like me. We are fortunate to grow up in prosperity and stability through your hard work. As for me, I am convinced, I would not, being a girl from a poor family with no connections, I would not have been able to go to school, enter a profession and serve in a multinational company. Rest in peace, be assured that we will continue to uphold your values of meritocracy, multi-racialism and non-corruptibility. Staying in cohesive as one people. Last but not least, I am PROUD to be SINGAPOREAN! Thank you Mr. Lee!

Dear Mr Lee, Without a leader like you in our lives, we would have been grouping in the dark not having a direction to move in life. A true leader, one who transformed the past to make it history. Who defied the past, understood the present and created future just like you. It was the courage and strength that you carried along that made you a true leader worth following. Your memories never fade as they live with us forever. Cherish every moment. Thank you Mr Lee. Mr Ideris and family.
